About This Series
GIGANTIS is a gritty sci-fi horror survival manga set on Tsushima Island, Nagasaki. High school student Gen Hinomoto lives a quiet life caring for his bedridden sister until mysterious, grotesque organisms known as IAS (Invasive Alien Species) suddenly appear. Capable of consuming and absorbing all living creatures to swell into giant mutated horrors, these beasts devastate the island in hours.
Separated from his sister during the chaos, Gen suffers a horrific encounter with an IAS organism that permanently bonds with his body. Rather than dying, Gen undergoes an extraordinary biomorphic fusion, granting him superhuman power to fight back against the terrifying alien infestation. Armed with this cursed evolution, he joins military remnants in a desperate battle for human survival.
Adapted from Yoichi Komori's sci-fi novel GIGANTIS volume 1 Birth, the manga features dynamic composition by Takayuki Yamamoto and astonishing artwork by Kenichi Tachibana, celebrated for his work on Terra Formars. Tachibana's visceral visual detailing brings nightmare bio-organic creatures and tactical battlefield destruction to life with jaw-dropping precision.
