About the Series
Rurouni Kenshin is a cornerstone historical action manga created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Set during the early Meiji period in Japan, it centers on Himura Kenshin, a gentle wandering swordsman.
Formerly known as the feared assassin Hitokiri Battosai during the Bakumatsu era, Kenshin has sworn a sacred oath never to kill again. He travels with a sakabato (reverse-blade sword) designed to neutralize opponents without taking lives.
