About the Series
Spy x Family is an immensely popular spy-comedy manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, serialized biweekly on Shueisha's digital platform Shonen Jump+ since March 2019. The narrative follows 'Twilight', Westalis's top secret agent, who receives a critical mission designated 'Operation Strix'. To monitor Donovan Desmond, a reclusive political leader in rival Ostania, Twilight must construct a plausible makeshift family within seven days to enroll a child in the elite Eden Academy.
Assuming the disguise of psychiatrist Loid Forger, Twilight adopts Anya, an orphan girl who conceals her secret telepathic abilities to read minds. To complete the illusion, he enters into a marriage of convenience with Yor Briar, an unsuspecting government clerk who, unbeknownst to him, is actually a lethal assassin known as the 'Thorn Princess'. Unaware of each other's true identities—except for Anya, who secretly knows everything through her telepathy—the trio form the improbable Forger household.
Endo crafts a sublime balance between tense Cold War espionage drama and hilarious slice-of-life comedy.
